Africa Pastoralists Empowerment Organization (APEO)

The Africa Pastoralists Empowerment Organization (APEO) is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya in 2014. Its aim is to foster sustainable development primarily for communities in the drylands of Africa through innovations that blend well with traditional knowledge of communities towards enhancing food and nutritional security that is resilient to climate change and protects the environment.
The vision also entails scaling up inclusive and gender-sensitive literacy and skills development, promoting universal health care, and empowering communities to foster peace, human dignity and overall societal development. APEO thinks globally but acts locally with its initial concentrated in Kenya, and mostly in the arid and regions of the Kenya. Currently, it has operational presence in Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo and Marsabit Counties of the country.
